A sandwich standard that is wonderful on the George Foreman Grill! Serve with tomato soup, or try some of the variations at the end of the recipe.
1-3 slices of cheese (usually gouda, limberger, or American cheese)
2 slices of bread
Butter or margarine

Grill until sandwich is nicely browned and cheese is melted. Remove from grill, cut, and serve immediately.
Spread some mayonnaise on the inside of the sandwich.
Add 1 or 2 slices of ham or seeded fresh tomato inside the sandwich.
For a pizza-like variant, spread ketchup on both pieces of bread, add cheese and some slices of salami.
Mix mayonnaise with a little mustard to taste and spread on both slices of bread before adding the fillings.
Spread the bread with a mix of mayonnaise and BBQ sauce.
Fill with slices of cheddar cheese and shredded pork.
Add diced raw onion, a few sweet pickles or some crumbled bacon.
